Coaching Quarterbacks, Building Men
Since 1988
Quarterback Academy (QBA) is the leader in QB training and development. Our high school and youth quarterback camps, quarterback clinics and QB training have helped thousands of young football players reach their potential. Many have excelled in the NCAA and NFL.
The QBA story:
From Doubt to Amazement in 30 minutes
A few years ago, Florida high school coach Matt Hedrick’s starting QB had Division-1 potential and inconsistent mechanics. Still, the Orlando-area coach was skeptical about “messing with” the throwing motion.
QBA founder Darin Slack struck a bargain with Hedrick.
“Coach, give me 30 minutes,” Slack said. “If you don’t see a dramatic improvement in release quickness, ball flight, and velocity, you can shut it down.”
During the training session, Hedrick’s doubts quickly began to fade. A few drills. A little coaching. And that “erratic” QB consistently made throws to every spot on the field, harder than he’d ever thrown.
Even the young man throwing the ball was surprised. And Hedrick was amazed.
“In less than 30 minutes, you could see it,” Hedrick said. “It was just incredible. I’ve never seen or heard of anything like that for QB training.”
The improvement was real, and the difference was lasting.
QBA, built on a solid base
Now more than ever, self-proclaimed experts in QB training claim that they have the tools to help young players make it to the next level.
QBA founder Darin Slack, an All-State and All-America QB in his prime, has more than two decades invested in perfecting optimum throwing mechanics. That commitment has produced the most effective quarterback training system available.
But it doesn’t come down to the amount of time invested. It’s about the fruits of that time-investment:
Self-Correct, not self-destruct
Simply put, the QBA difference is a Self-Correct responsiveness that stems from an understanding of instant feedback.
With this Self-Correct awareness, improvement is immediate. And with informed repetition, that difference is permanent.
Core values
We believe we can change the way young men think about football, career, and purpose for life. We believe a QB’s highest achievement isn’t a scholarship or a victory. It’s earning the respect of teammates and leading them by example. We believe that every QB can make a difference, and therefore must achieve their potential. We believe that if even one QB in every place we go hears the call to make a difference with his gift, then we’ve succeeded. We believe it is our privilege to assist coaches in developing skilled, self-motivated young men for their programs who remind them how much fun they have doing what they do. We believe it is our duty to assist parents, in fostering Confidence, Consistency, Character, and Commitment, the backbone of the C4 Self-Correct System. We believe that the next generation of leaders is lost without understanding the rich reward and legacy that comes to men who sacrifice for a greater good.
