It was only a matter of time before the CJ Bennett from Alonso High School was going to pick up his first offer from a major division one school. The 5’11 gunslinger, raked as the 27th Pro Style Quarterback in the nation by rivals, left for a visit to the University of Wyoming and received an offer on the spot.

New head coach Dave Christensen, Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Missouri since 2001, had been selected as the new head coach of the Cowboys in 2008. With his previous Quarterback Chase Daniel leading his Missouri team under Christensen’s guidance, they featured one of the most potent attacks in Conference history for the past 4 four seasons.  Bennett, drawing obvious comparisons to Chase Daniel, not only because of his height but the way he throws, runs and directs his offense was a clear choice to receive a scholarship offer from the Cowboys.

Cj Bennett finished up 2008 with a 7 win, 4 loss season. He totaled 411 attempts, 3017 yards and 29 TD with only 9 ints.

CJ will continue to receive more offers from major colleges across the nation. Wyoming looks to be a great fit for CJ based on the history of the Coach and Bennett’s performance last season.
