CJ Bennett, top Quarterback in the Nation?

If you haven’t heard of CJ Bennett before today, expect to get to know him pretty well over the next couple years. He’s here to stay!

If height wasn’t a concern for D1 college coaches,  CJ Bennett could be considered one of the top ranked Quarterbacks in the class of 2010. Despite his 6 ft frame, he will be one of the top 3  Quarterbacks this season for the State of Florida and for that matter the nation. Compared to Chase Daniel of Missouri every 30 seconds, CJ earns that comparison with his play on the field.  After a breakout junior year, CJ is poised to have a bigger year in 2009. Stay tuned to hear more about CJ Bennett as we continue to bring you updates.

Pair of DSQA Quarterbacks stand out at Scout combine

Jupiter Christian’s Marshyl Rothman and Guliver Prep’s Michael Strauss were very impressive on Saturday’s Miami Combine. Strauss already has two offers, Akron and Tulane and will be sure to pick up a few more as the off season continues on. Rothman has shown that he is worthy of a major D1 scholarship, although shorter than most prototype QB’s, he shows unmatchable athleticism at the Quarterback position. Keep an eye out on both of these  two in 09!

Elite 11 Dominance

Strauss ready to get20

DSQA QB’s made there presence felt during the March 1st event at Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando Florida with a strong showing. During the windy, cold event, the seven juniors showed their stuff in front of Elite 11 selection committee and proved that they could hang with the best in the state. After watching the complete event I’m confident that we had the top 3 QB’s out of the 50 plus hopefuls at the event regardless of size, speed etc..

Michael Strauss – Had a very strong showing, defiantly in the top 3 QB’s at the event. He performed extremely well during the route potion of the event hitting on all cylinders.

Trevor Siemian– Started very strong and showed flashes of how good he will become. “Most upside” is a very accurate statement about his potential.

Michael Slack– Michael was slowed by a muscle strain which wasn’t helped with the cold weather but still managed to show that his arm is as good as any.

C. J. Bennett– Absolutely in the top three, who ever lands Bennett in college will be getting one of the best QB’s in the country.

Marshyl Rothman– Easily the most athletic QB of the entire event. Has the arm, feet and the “it” factor. Has a very good chance of picking up his third State championship this next season.

Sam Wood– unfortunately was unwell and could not attend. Look out for big things from this Signal Caller next year.

Brandon Smith– Finished in the final accuracy competition, on a day where winds blew up to 20 mphs. That says enough!

The Billy Farris Report

Billy Farris had a stellar senior year last season for Colorado State University. Despite having a strong statistical season, leading CSU to its first winning season in 5 years, topped off by their first Bowl victory since 2001, Farris did not receive an invite to the NFL Combine. His pro day was March 10th and he fully intended to take advantage of it.
With some combine prep and coaching from the Darin Slack Quarterback Academy, Farris proceeded to steal the show in front of the NFL scouts. Now elevated to a potential 5th to 7th round pick by some scouts, Farris will make some NFL team very happy after showing some serious potential after CSU?s pro day March 10th, 2009.
Keep an eye out for Quarterback Billy Farris in 2009, DSQA Alum!

2008 statistics:
233/379
TD/INT 19/13
YDS 2934
Rating 136.2
