Coach Slack Takes You To Another Level
Coach Slack has played a critical role in Curt's development over the last four years. As a physician, I have been most impressed with Coach Slack's knowledge of biomechanics, proper throwing motion, and ability to teach a player. Curt's accuracy, ability to self-correct, and remove painful problems was extremely helpful. You can find many good QB coaches that can teach you drills to make you more consistent, but Coach Slack takes you to another level of understanding how to execute more accurately and create the ability to, "perfect practice that makes perfect." His program will optimize any player's chances of early playing time and success.

Solid Foundation
The training Marshyl receives working with Coach Slack and his staff was key to building a solid foundation both on the field and off the field. Darin has taught my son that being a championship quarterback is much more than just throwing the ball. We always look foward to training at DSQA."

Throwing Changed Dramatically
I just wanted to give a testimony of our search for the best possible instruction on the skills and mechanics of quarterbacking for our son. Living in Alaska made our decision difficult and very expensive. So as I began to look on the internet for different camps available, I was looking to find what would give our son the most in-depth teaching of the fundamentals of quarterbacking. I began reading the testimonies from both players and parents that have attended the Darin Slack Quarterback Academy, and I found that they all spoke directly to my heart. Fundamentally, there was a new approach to teaching the mechanics of throwing the football and developing the entire quarterback.
I first ordered Darin's DVD, and as my son and I watched it, we were totally impressed with the comprehensive teaching approach. We believed that this was the system that would benefit us. It took us a while to get our schedules lined up with Darin being in Orlando, but Darin was very gracious in working with our schedule and before we knew it we were meeting with him in Southern California! We had great expectations for the significant financial investment we were making, and they were greatly exceeded by our experience with Darin after just 2 days!
Our son learned much more that just how to throw the football. He also learned about the entire quarterback position from Darin. In just 2 days, my son’s throwing ability changed dramatically. Furthermore, on and off the field we believe Darin instilled values that our son will carry through a lifetime.
We believe that this was a life changing experience for both my son and I. If we had traveled all that distance just to hear Darin share his story of God’s blessing on this program and his passion for character and leadership, it would have all been worthwhile. And we look forward to traveling to see Darin again next summer.

Exceptional Skills
In July, Coach Slack trained my son in the fundamentals of quarterbacking. My son’s passing skills have improved dramatically, probably three-fold in just two days.
Most football coaching/training clinics focus on repetitive drills, without first training the athlete in the basic fundamentals of quarterbacking. Each time a drill is performed without proper technique and fundamentals, the incorrect motion is reinforced, creating a bad habit. A young man cannot be expected to perform well in drills when he hasn't learned the basic skill sets for passing, footwork, and running game techniques. This is where the real difference is in Coach Slack's approach. He has broken down the throwing motion of quarterbacks from their feet to their fingertips. Each muscular and joint action is analyzed and adjusted based on science and human physiology, not on old unproved methods which teach and reinforce incorrect techniques.
I believe any young man who is seriously interested in developing QB skills must start with Coach Slack's program. If he does, he will excel and develop exceptional skills which he will use for the rest of his quarterback career.

Opportunities
Brett signed a letter of intent this week to play QB at Wake Forest next year. We are so excited for him as you might imagine. This opportunity would not have occurred if it wasn’t for the instruction he received from you over the past few years. Brett gives you credit for teaching him the fundamentals of the QB position, and helping him improve his skills to play QB at the college level. We appreciate all that you have done for our son.

Realize The Dream
Thank you for all your instruction and counseling with my son. There simply aren’t many coaches who understand or can teach a quarterback the proper techniques, mechanics, and mental aspects of the game as you were able to with Shane. Shane's dream was to play Division One football and many people questioned whether he had that ability. I can not thank you enough for developing him to a place where he could realize his dream. He signed a full scholarship last week to play at Temple University. It has been a pleasure working with you. We look forward to working with you this summer to get him ready for the college game.

A Gift From God
Even if Colton never played another game of football, what he learns from you will enhance his life. You can tell that you don't view these boys as just throwing machines, but you are forming them to be men of character and knowing this is a gift from God. I thank you in advance for all that Colton will learn in your program

Complete And Total Attention
My son, David, attended your camp at Indianapolis last summer. He really enjoyed your camp. (After he saw you throw two balls through the basketball hoop two full courts away you had his complete and total attention!) He would like to attend again this summer.

What You Preached…Priceless
Coach, I don't know if you'll remember my son, CJ from Tampa. He was one of the youngest kids(11) at one of your camps and had 1 private lesson. What you preached to my son was priceless. He became the leader and the "servant" on a great team. His team went undefeated and even though he was the youngest player in the league, he just turned 12 and the league is for 13 and 14's. His ability to take what you said about leading a team and being confident was a joy as a parent to watch. He "got it" this season and it was with your help.
His ability to correct himself was almost scary, he knew exactly what was wrong with a throw, from start to finish. His ball handling was superb and his pitches were flawless. His stats were great 13 td's in 10 games 3 picks. Accuracy over 65%. The thing I was most proud of was that CJ missed 3 games because the doctors thought he may have had cancer, the growth was removed and it turned out to be just a large cyst in his gland, and he said to me "Dad it's alright if I don't play again think of all the sick kids who were never able to play sports at all". Wow if that didn't get to me!
We talk often about you and he never starts a game with us going over leadership qualities. I know now he can correct his mistakes on the field, what I didn't know is that he could become the "servant leader" you preach about at such a young age. Thank you for your help and we look forward to starting up with your camps in the spring.

Impressed
I just wanted to say how impressed Conner and I were with your St. Thomas Aquinas camp. Your talks were exceptional. Conner went to a few very high-profile camps this summer around the Southeast and Conner felt yours was better than any of them, and that he learned a lot more. We would be interested in one on one sessions when your time permits.

Thank You
I just wanted to thank you for the instruction you have given my son, Ryne Salyer. He attended your Academy in 2001 and 2002, in Southeast Ohio. Ryne became the leading passer in school history in virtually every category. Your training certainly helped him tremendously. Murray State University, DI-AA, offered him a full scholarship to play quarterback and he accepted. They said they were tremendously impressed with his throwing abilities and accuracy, which you taught him. We thank you again and look forward to seeing how he may do on the next level.

You Are The Best
I have talked up your camp to many people and I have coached youth sports at all levels, and I have never seen anyone close in terms of developing individual mechanics and fundamentals, and accomplishing so much in such a short timeframe. You are the best and we will certainly see you again next year. Thanks again.

Worth Every Penny
I wanted you to know how much we enjoyed and appreciated your quarterback coaching and instruction! As a former NFL lineman, I've had the privilege of protecting and hanging around some pretty good QB's. I really was a little skeptical of what you could do or how much you could help my son. In my opinion, Dallas is a very good athlete and a pretty good young quarterback. I must say, you did a great job with him!! His footwork is better, his release is now much quicker, his accuracy his more consistent, and I think that his overall understanding of the QB position has improved! We are very glad you came. It was worth every penny!! As a former pro football player, I understand what it takes to get to the next level, and with the intensity, energy, and coaching that you bring to the table, I would recommend your QB ACADEMY to anyone who is serious about taking their game to higher levels!

I Have Seen With My Eyes
I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for the change I see in my son Jimmy, since you worked with him March 5th and 6th of 2005. Your ability to communicate and get him to understand the techniques of QB play was awesome!
I was told you were good, even the best, but now I have seen it with my own eyes, and I just can’t believe how you exceeded every expectation I had going into the weekend. The knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy you bring with your ability to communicate is outstanding! In the first four hours you changed him from a guy with a good arm that was inconsistent, that did not know why his throwing motion worked the way it did, to a quarterback with confidence, and a full understanding of his arm mechanics.
When he throws a ball now, he can correct it himself because you taught him how the arm and throwing motion work together. Before when he missed it could be 5 or 6 feet off target, now if he misses it might be a foot off target, the consistency is unbelievable! In addition to that, his confidence has soared because of the understanding he has of not only throwing mechanics, but every aspect of his position as you taught it. The leadership concepts you installed in him are priceless! Because of you there is no doubt he will excel at a whole new level. If you have anyone considering having you work with their son feel free to have them call me I would be happy to tell them of our wonderful experience with Darin Slack's Quarterback Academy! Thank You so Much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just What I've Been Looking For
Coach Slack,
Can't tell you how happy I am to have discovered DSQA. This is just what I have been looking for. Thanks to you my son is now the starting QB on his peewee football team, and many have told me his is the best passing QB in the league, thanks mainly to the mechanics he has learned from your material. We are looking forward to the new videos and Virtual Field House.
Thanks again Coach.

Learned More From This Camp
Just wanted to write and let you know how Kaleb was doing. Well, his team is 5-1 so far and he has played very consistently and with confidence to this point. He has performed well in every game and just seems to have really good poise even when things are going crazy.
I talked with him and he has said he learned more from your camp than anywhere else he has received instruction. I am hoping we can get to your camp again this coming summer and maybe even some individual training at some point. Anyway, just wanted to drop an update to you and say thanks, I can see a difference in him and it was well worth the drive! We came to your camp in Bardstown, Ky and we drove from Warrensburg, Mo just east of Kansas City. A little over 500 miles. Thanks.

More Yardage
I wanted to let you know that as a result of my son, Caleb Knights, attending your camp for the last 3 years, he has recently been asked to become the starting varsity quarterback (he is only a freshman!)
. They had Caleb come in the last 6 minutes of the last game and he was able to get more yardage in that time period than the starting quarterback did in 3 quarters. The crowd went crazy. It resulted in the coach asking Caleb to be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season and everyone including the entire team, quarterback, back up quarterback are wanting him to start and even approached the coach to do so several weeks ago. They all seem to be happy and in one accord. It's amazing how much excitement this move has brought to the community...it is overwhelming to us. This is also a first in the history of the school for a freshman to start as the varsity quarterback!

Drastically Improved
I just wanted to send you a message about how valuable your camp was, to both my son and me. Even though my son was the youngest one at the camp, your coaches and participants treated him with respect and good humor. His mechanics have also drastically improved. From my perspective as a youth coach, your opening lecture and opening drills really changed my thinking, and made me laugh. Just the fact that youth QB’s should be practicing the snap more than they throw the ball when warming up was worth the price of the camp. Thanks again.

"...Thank you for the time you have spent with my son, Kyle. Not only has Kyle benefited from your quarterback teachings but also some of the life lessons you have shared with him. I would highly recommend any prospective quarterback not only to receive instruction from you, but also to purchase your "Art & Science of Passing" video and "Building the Winning Quarterback" handbook, as a reference tool for future use.
Kyle has attended a number of high profile quarterback camps around the country, but your instructions on the mechanics of passing far surpassed any instruction he received; not only because you showed him how to do it and why, but also how to correct himself when problems occur."

Earned Self-Confidence
It was great meeting you and attending your camp at WHARTON HS. Tyler (QB) was very impressed with you, as was I. On the way home from camp, it was a consensus that we want to enlist your services frequently throughout the upcoming years to train Tyler to be the best leader he can be. From talking with Tyler, he has the understanding that you can teach him the QB position and mechanics but more importantly he is beginning to grasp that you can teach him how to earn self-confidence, and respect, as a leader.
Personally, I like your method of teaching and the fundamentals of both life and football. In my work as the CFO of a publishing company, I frequently use analogies of football to teach my employees the disciplines they need in their jobs. I think football is one of the premier paths to learning real-world life issues. I have explained to Tyler that being told to do a task, such as a drill in football, is of little value to a novice who does not know how to perform the task. What is better is to tell the person what is to be done then follow that up with instructions on the proper steps to accomplish the task. In other words, you do not just tell, you also teach.
When your schedule permits later in the year, I will have Tyler fly down and we will continue what you started yesterday. Again, thanks for your help and much success to you and your family.

I Know The Why And What
I was introduced to Football in 1987 at the age of 25 coming from one of the Caribbean Islands. No matter how I tried I could never throw a good spiral. My son became a QB at age 8, and up to age 15 he still could never throw a "consistent" spiral, he would get a spiral here and there, maybe 4 out of every 20 throws.
Ever since he started quarterbacking, I have asked every Coach I could talk to about how to properly throw a football for accuracy and get a spiral at the same time, read every article I could find, watched every film that has to do with "Throwing" instructions and bought a lot of QB instructional videos and also bought videos featuring the best: Montana, Favre, O'Brien and the like.
Because my son from age 8 never had the luxury of a specific "QB" Coach, I had to go try to learn the position inside out to help my son by following these instructions I would come across. Let me say that when I came across Coach Darin Slack's video while browsing the net, I said, "Oh well, another QB video, same routine, let me order it to see if there is anything different from what I already have." When we put in the tape, from the very first few minutes, we were so flabbergasted we could not move from our seats, halfway through the tape my son and I stood, and I say stood because we could no longer sit down and we watched that entire tape without uttering a single word. We could not wait to get outside to try out what we saw on that tape.
For 7 years I had been feverishly trying to get my son and myself to throw consistent spirals with accuracy but could not and could never figure out why. We went outside and, this is no lie, from the very first workout after watching the tape we were BOTH throwing consecutive spirals. With Coach Slack's video, NOW I know how to throw, but most importantly, I know WHY and WHAT it takes to get consistent spirals as I know where every finger should be on the football, their purpose and the effects of hand placement on different parts of the ball, proper shoulder/elbow movement, etc. Simply put, I now know how and why I get consistent spirals with accuracy. My 15 year old will now throw 20-30 spirals "consecutively" EVERYTIME we work out!!
Coach Slack has ended 7 years of utter frustration for me and my son, now having become a football Coach myself over the years, when I watch my 6-12 year olds throw a football, I no longer have to stand by let them throw it anyway they want to, now I can show them myself what to do and how to do it because I can now throw that darned football myself with confidence every time and I know why! We can't thank you enough Coach Slack!!

I Am A Believer
Coach Slack has made me a believer. I have a son who is a high school quarterback. I played fullback myself in college at Army. I used to believe that you could not change a player's throwing motion until I started using the information in Coach Slack's book and video.
Before reading the material, my son's accuracy was good but not great. Since then, he has been able to throw the ball EXACTLY where he wants it. We have seen the most improvement on the fade routes. Last week in drills with the team, he threw about 40 fades all right on target. Both he and I know it was because of how Coach Slack taught him how to "self correct" his throws by focusing only on three variables. I feel like we owe you more money based on how much he has improved. We are hoping to catch you at one of your camps this summer.
My son has always had a strong arm, but he used a three quarter release he was used to from pitching in baseball. Although he was somewhat accurate, balls tended to follow a right to left trajectory during flight. For instance, if he was throwing the ball to a receiver 10 yards away, the ball would hit the receiver in his left shoulder (as you looked at the receiver). The throwing motion he was using, Coach Slack calls a slashing motion. We totally changed his throwing motion during this off- season. Now, almost every throw is a spiral and is right on target. More importantly, when he makes a mistake now, he'll say, "Pop that did not FEEL right" before I can say anything! He now knows EXACTLY what he did wrong by feel.

Being a "Slacker"
My son Nick is going into 8th grade and has played football in years past but never QB. We took private lessons with Coach Slack over the Christmas Holiday in Orlando, attended a 2 day camp in NJ and purchased the DVD's to use as a guide for training. We have been training on our own using Coach Slack's workouts, drills, and techniques as our foundation.
Last night Nick got his first opportunity to use these techniques in a game setting. He passed beyond my expectations with accuracy, both short and long. Most of his balls were tight beautiful spirals. When they weren't, he didn't panic. He used Coach Slack’s self-correct system and fixed his own problems. It is rare to feel compelled to tell people about the services that others provide. Last night, I had to tell at least ten of Nick’s teammate’s fathers about Coach Slack because they all approached me to find out where he learned to play QB and pass so well. I had to tell them about Coach Slack!!!!
I wanted to share this with you because of the enthusiasm that has developed from your training programs. Not just Nick's enthusiasm or mine, but from his teammates and their parents. It was a great feeling, and we thank you for all your support and help. We feel it is just the beginning and are looking forward to continuously training with Coach Slack. It gives new meaning to being a "Slacker," and I'm proud to be called one!
Thanks!
